Design Process:
In ArtCAM Express you can quickly create vector artwork with its array of unique vector drawing tools or convert imported images to vectors. Alternatively you can bring in a 3D model from another CAD software package that you wish to machine. ArtCAM Express can import most image formats, including bmp, jpeg, tiff, ai, gif, dwg and dxf files.

ArtCAM’s drawing tools allow you to create intricate and detailed vector designs. You are also able to bring in and automatically vectorize 2D Bitmap images. ArtCAM Express supports most common vector formats including JPEG's, Tiffs, Gifs, and BMP's.

With Express you can chose a design from the comprehensive 3D Clipart library included (over 500 free 3d models provided) or swiftly import your own 3D models

Manufacturing Process:
ArtCAM’s 2D and 3D machining enables you to go from design to manufactured parts quickly and easily. Using a database of tools and machining strategies you can calculate the toolpath for the machining of your piece and then output the information to over 200 different machines.

Whether you wish to cut around, inside or along your shape, Express allows you to cut your sheet of material from a set point or edge. “Bridges” can be applied if you want to keep the shape from falling away from the rest of the material after cutting.

To quickly machine “pockets” or areas in between designs Express has very efficient Area Clearance strategies.

Select 2D text or a drawing in ArtCAM and cut it efficiently using a V-Bit tool. ArtCAM automatically creates a variable depth cutting path.
